Greetings Visitors!
Welcome to my Kindergarten classroom web page! I’m Mrs. Amy Monteiro. The 2011-2012 school year is my 18th year working in early childhood education and 12th year teaching Kindergarten (11th in Westwood). I created this page to quickly and easily communicate back-and-forth with the families of the children in my class and I welcome anyone to post comments and questions to me (or to the other families) through this site. Please check back often to stay up to date with what’s going on in our classroom. You can subscribe through an rss feed reader (feed button is at the bottom left hand corner of this page) or below to receive posts via email. I’m looking forward to another fun year in KM!

Nice to be recognized…
...although it was only by some silly teacher website with no real credence. Now if it was awarded by the MTA or NEA, this button would appear right at the top of the page!

Hello KM Families. Mrs. Monteiro is back! I’m really enjoying getting to know the kids again and I wanted to fill you all in on a few things…

I’ve used your email addresses in the school directory to let you know about our classroom blog/website. The address is www.mrsmonteiro.com if you would like to bookmark it. We have a calendar of events there as well as interesting links and hopefully a photo gallery soon which will be passwork protected. I’ll send the password home in VIP bags as soon as we have some photos to share. You will get an email whenever I add something to the blog. I hope you find it useful and check it often.

The student council’s service project for this month with be collecting old (but clean) blankets and towels for the Dedhan Animal Shelter. Please send these items to school and the student council will deliver them at the end of the month.

Friday the school store will be open during lunch. The spending limit is $5. PLEASE, if you send in money for your child to spend at the school store, put it in a LABELED (Johnny-school store) ZIPTOP BAGGIE and send it to school in your child’s VIP. Thank you for helping us stay organized.

January 28 will be Look-Alike Day at the Sheehan. SO that all KM students will feel included, we thought it would be fun to dress alike as a whole class. We will all be wearing….hmmm…since I have not talked to the kids about what we want to wear, I’ll have to get back to you about this! A great reason to keep checking our calendar!

Have a great week!
